Everything You Need to Know About the Nissan Leaf

The Nissan Leaf was the first electric vehicle to be mass-produced. First coming into the automotive public sphere in 2010, this highly-praised electric hatchback has won numerous awards and recognition over its lifespan. Plus, the Leaf has paved the way for other Nissan electric vehicles. Still in production over a decade later, Nissan continues to improve upon the Leaf as the years go by.

Is Nissan Electric Car Reliable?

Yes! The Nissan Leaf is one of the most reliable electric vehicles on the market. It should last at least 160,000 kilometres without significant issues but can last up to 250,000 kilometres when properly maintained and regularly serviced. Plus, Nissan provides a 160,000-kilometre battery warranty, meaning that if your Leaf battery needs replacement within the first eight years of ownership, it'll be covered.

What are the Differences Between Nissan Leaf Models?

As with any vehicle, the Nissan Leaf offers various trim levels with enhanced features as you move up within the lineup. For 2023, the base SV model has 240 kilometres of all-electric range and can be charged up to 80% from empty in only 40 minutes with a DC quick charger. The SV Plus and SL Plus models can get up to 342 kilometres before needing a charge, which would take approximately 60 minutes with a DC quick charger. These models have a larger motor and battery than the base, giving them more power and range.

Which Nissan Leaf Model has the Longest Range?

For 2022, the trim with the highest all-electric range is the S Plus. This model is equipped with a 62-kWh lithium-ion battery which provides up to 363 kilometres of range on a full charge. Browse our new inventory for pricing and availability for this model.
